Ministry of Education, inaugurated the activities of training program for design and production of electronic content under the auspices of Reem Omar Al-Zawawi Chairperson of Oman International Bank, where the opening ceremony of the program which runs for 39 days held in North Batinah, in Oman Hall at Sohar College of Applied Science and attended by a number officials from the Ministry of Education and a number of Their Excellencies the Governors and members of the Shura Council and a number of educators from the Ministry of Education and various school districts in the Sultanate and members of parent councils in the region.
The Opening ceremony featured a number of proceedings began with a speech by Director of Information Technology in North Batinah Mr.Issa bin Hamid al-Shibli, said: "welcome to this blessed gathering and we look forward to embark a new electronic educational achievements to be added to the total educational achievements, in this prosperous era expressing our deep appreciation and gratitude for the honor of this educational celebration".
" a renewed meeting with you again in the North Batinah Educational area adding a new brick to the building blocks of learning and e-learning that comes from officials of the keenness of the Ministry of Education, headed by His Excellency Yahya bin Saud al-Sulaimi distinguished Minister of Education to keep pace with the rapid development in various areas of education, including learning and e-learning, according to its innovation and modern studies indications and trends shown by scientific research and practical feasibility and effectiveness in education".
His Excellency Khalid bin Suleiman Al-Siyabi director general of Directorate of Information Technology, said: With the rapid development in information technology and telecommunications, the ministry has paid special attention to this aspect, and highlighted the establishment of two Directorate-General for Information Technology, namely, (Department of e-learning) and (Department of e-content) to Service learning techniques, and to focus on the employment of technology in the educational process and curriculum support to deploy an exciting interactive learning aids as well it was necessary to create an interactive learning environment more enriching and stimulating for the student and facilitating for the teacher.
The Kurdish Mahmood, project manager of (UKS) company , said: "The government has set a long-term strategic vision for the Sultanate as follows:" to turn the Sultanate of Oman into a knowledge society by harnessing information and communication technologies to improve government services and promoting business and the empowerment of individuals ", and one of the elements of this vision is to build an educational system empowers Omani with skills required in the twenty-century, through increased use of e-learning in schools and by the implementation of the Educational Portal Project, which provides appropriate interactive content. The Ministry is to provide easy access for students to class activities, homework and classroom tools to resolve issues and provide immediate feedback, pursuing a modern constrictive education approach relies on the student himself to obtain the necessary information. The beginning of e-learning is a team that specializes in designing the contents of the electronic structure in a recognized international standards, in cooperation with a specialized company in this area for the transfer of expertise to the central team in the ministry, and teams representing the sections of e-learning and e-content in the educational areas all over the sultanate".
