The Office of Oman's Permanent Delegation in the UNESCO specializes in the following:
1. Strengthen ways of cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and UNESCO in its different activities.
2. Endeavour to found a work relationship with the different bodies and committees of UNESCO and endeavour to deepen and protect them.
3. Follow-up all the issues that concern the Ministry of education and the UNESCO.
4. Try to get the help of the organization to develop the pedagogical activity in the Sultanate of Oman.
5. Try to benefit from the main programs of the organization, those related to science and technology.
6. Reinforce cooperation with the Organization to keep and protect the artistic and cultural heritage and other archeological items in the Sultanate.
7. Reinforce cooperation with the organization for the exchange of publications and artistic works as well as computer and scientific materials.
8. Endeavour to exchange those employed in the field of education, science and culture in the member countries and their counterparts in the Sultanate of Oman.
9. Endeavour to represent the Sultanate of Oman in the different committees of the organization by submitting suggestions to the Ministry in this respect and make efforts with the member countries to achieve this representation.
The Office of Technical Studies & Development and specializes in the following
1. Revision of the educational approaches and strategies and suggesting its periodical updates.
2. Development of educational programs and plans in the light of the adopted policies.
3. Planning of the development of human resources at the Ministry in keeping with the programs of development.
4. Setting up the specifications of the tasks assigned to consultants and experts and know-how bureaus and that by coordinating with the concerned bodies.
5. Study the reports of schools' follow-up reports to benefit from them in the planning of development projects.
6. The participation in the study of the specific educational problems that hamper the educational process angd suggest suitable solutions and remedies to them.
7. Carry out yearly surveys to fix issues and handicaps related to the application of the educational plan and gather necessary information about them in coordination with the educational departments, directorates and administrations in the region to help decision-makers.
8. Suggest a yearly research for the purpose of what has been fixed above along with the assessment of the approximate cost of each fundamental study and its classification by order of priority.
9. Coordination for the purpose of providing the necessary human skills in order to design and implement the fundamental studies whether by the educational institutions inside or outside the Sultanate of Oman.
10. Supervision of the design of the fundamental studies adopted in the plan to obtain maximum benefit from the available information at the office, or design efficient ways to obtain unavailable information by choosing statistic samples that are reliable and as cheap as possible.
11. Take advantage of the educational published literature which is related to the processing of the issues involved in the fundamental plan of the Ministry.
12. The revision of what concerns the Sultanate as to studies and researches in the territorial and international educational platforms.
13. Follow-up and monitoring of the educational policies technically and administratively.
14. Coordination with directorates general and the general department of the Ministry and the educational directorates in the regions with regard to the implementation of the educational projects , their development and assessment.
15. Directing and guiding technical experts, consultants and know-how personnel with whom the Ministry enters into contracts in accordance with their qualifications.
16. Providing specific information on the strategic educational planning of the Ministry to present them in the educational forums and seminars in which the Ministry decides to participate.
17. Provide technical and educational support as to what subjects are assigned to it.
18. Receive and study the subjects to be presented to the committee of policies, planning and education council (board).
19. Study the suggestions of the educational development that have been prepared by the different directorates and departments of the Ministry and forward recommendations in their respect to the Committee of Policies and Planning.

The Security Office and specializes in the following:
1. Take necessary security measures to keep the security and safety of the Ministry buildings.
2. To find an efficient security system inside the Ministry to protect the classified materials and protect its confidentiality.
3. Coordination and communication with Directorates general, schools and administrations concerning the security issues.
4. Organizing the entrance of the employees to the general office of the Ministry and the connected buildings to it outside official timinig hours , in official holidays and in the weekly holidays and issuing the necessary permits for that.
5. The organization o the entry of the visitors of the general office of the Ministry and related premises and issuing permits to get their cars inside.
6. Take necessary measures to protect the deposited documents in the safe wardrobes existing in the Ministry and keep their secret codes as well as making copies of its keys.
7. Training the employees of the Ministry and educating them about the security ways to be followed efficiently and permanently.
8. Supervising the guards and follow-up of the implementation of the security instructions transmitted to them from the office.
9. Make sure to put off all the electrical and electronic equipments at the end of the daily duty.
10. Make sure not to let any person inside the building of the Ministry after the official duty before closing the doors except those permitted.
11. Make surprise visits to the general office of the Ministry, directorates and the related departments to see to the safety of the security measures in them.
12. Participate in the special committees investigating on lost classified materials or their perusal by unauthorized persons .
13. Revision of the files of applicants for jobs at the Ministry and settling them before transferring them to the concerned authorities .
14. Follow-up the concerned authorities with the issue of security approvals as to appointments, promotions, transfers and correction of names and changing tribes.

The Undersecretary of Education and Curricula
The Office of the Undersecretary specializes in the following:
1. Organizing the appointments and meetings of the Undersecretary.
2. Preparing for the meetings in which the Undersecretary participates and preparing the subjects, documents, and required studies for those meetings as well as writing their reports.
3. The reception of all the required subjects to be submitted to the Undersecretary, completing papers and documents that are to be enclosed , their study and preparing a summary of them if possible before submitting them to his Excellency.

4- . The study and analysis of the documents of the general forum of the Ministry of Education in the Gulf Arab
Countries and make suggestions about them.
5-The follow-up of the decisions issued from the Office of Education for the Gulf Countries and the general forum
of the Ministry of Education in the Gulf Arab Countries as to what concerns the Ministry of Education in
Sultanate of Oman.
6-Provide the concerned departments at the Ministry with the documents and study received by the Office of Arab
