Definition:
International schools are schools that have been established to provide
educational services to the foreign comunity living in Oman.
International school system work
International schools operate in accordance with the provisions of Regulation
schools international ministerial decree issued in August 4/ 2006.
- The International Schools administered by board of directors elected by the
parents of students in school, and the council is the body responsible for the
ministry in all matters concerning the school.
-The council shall establish internal regulation of the organization of work, to
be approved by the ministry after making sure that they do not conflict with the
provisions of regulation and materials for schools international ministerial
decision issued August 4/ 2006.
-The school administration shall submit to the Office of International Schools
names and data of candidates to fill the posts of school director and the
teaching staff, administrative and technical accompanied by the necessary
documents, the appointment is not final until after obtaining the written
consent of the office.
-The school governor is responsible for all the technical, administrative,
financial and implementation instructions of the ministry and the board council
decisions in the school.
-The school may teach any curricula and textbooks it wishes, provided that they
should receive prior approval from the ministry.
-Students are admitted to school, according to the admission requirements
established in the pupils’ country.
- Schools are allowed to organize celebrations of cultural or recreational
programs or other appropriate finance resource to implement specific projects to
provide more educational services to students with the approval from the
ministry and the concerned responsible.
-The school provides the ministry with a copy of the annual audited accounts.
