Schools of Special Needs Education in the Sultanate have witnessed a remarkable development in the recent three decades. Although the Ministry of education has short life experience in this field, but it achieved great harmony with the rapid development in all areas of country development.

Following up the services provided by the Ministry for students with disabilities felt clearly broad

 quality of the transformation in various fields relevant to the care of this category, which aims primarily to provide the best outreach programs and educational services to make them active, productive, interactive and run concurrently with the modern life vast changing world.
The Ministry of education interest has increased in students with disabilities likewise their peers; conscious which will produce such services for these students will not only affect them, but would leave a positive impact on the learning outputs in the Sultanate.

Providing educational service for this category is a sincere belief in their rights in obtaining educational and rehabilitative care so they can build their homeland and serve in with all possessed skills and innovations.

-School of Hope. (Specialized schools for deaf)
-Intellectual Education Schools. (Specialized for mental disability)
-Omar Bin Al-Katab Institute. (specialized school for blinds).
-Learning difficulties processing program. (at Schools).
-Integration program of special needs children. (at Schools).

Ministry of Education keen on upbringing and educating children with disabilities, and to vocational training and rehabilitation according to their abilities and their potentials and according to plans and special programs aimed at re-socialization and prepare them for life.
